Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), acquires medium-sized companies and parts of groups with headquarter in Europe that are being sold in the course of a repositioning process at their owners and show a clear potential for operational improvement. Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams as well as through acquisitions of strategic add-ons. Our goal is to acquire companies with a turnover of EUR 50 to 500 million. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within our OPS team, we are looking to hire a leader who has a successful track record in Turnaround Management Office with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.

Your Tasks
  • Supporting our portfolio companies in their turnaround journey, by working closely with the management board and the Mutares team
  • Establishing a business plan incl. a turnaround concept and driving the implementation together with the Mutares team and the portfolio company
  • Assessment of strategic decisions (e.g. Insourcing/Outsourcing) together with the local teams and the Mutares team
  • Supporting the acquisition and integration process of add on acquisitions
  • Establishing the management governance and coherent tracking and reporting within the portfolio company
  • Management of different stakeholders together with the finance team and the management board
  • Working at the intersection between the portfolio company and Mutares
  • Driving improvement initiatives and knowledge development for Mutares Operations
Your Profile
  • At least 5 years of experience in relevant fields
  • Master studies in the field of economics, engineering, science or similar with outstanding results
  • Experience in transformations, restructuring or turnaround situations is a plus
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in complex situations
  • Structured and pragmatic approach to solve problems and drive impact combined with an entrepreneurial and team mindset
  • Proficiency with the MS-Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong commitment, flexibility and motivation
  • Fluent English and one other European language
  • Willingness to travel 4 days per week (typ. Mo-Thu)
