Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), acquires medium-sized companies and parts of groups with headquarter in Europe that are being sold in the course of a repositioning process at their owners and show a clear potential for operational improvement. Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams as well as through acquisitions of strategic add-ons. Our goal is to acquire companies with a turnover of EUR 50 to 500 million. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

For our Operations department, Turnaround Management Office team, we are looking for an intern (m/f/d) for a period of 4 to 6 months, location flexible.

Your Tasks
  • Supporting our portfolio companies in their turnaround journey, by working closely with our Turnaround Managers in their daily work on site or remote
  • Driving your own projects with full end-to-end responsibility as part of the Mutares team
  • Analysing problems and generating improvement initiatives on your own responsibility to achieve practical “quick wins” and minimize cash-bleeding
  • Implementing initiatives and developing business cases for strategic decisions (e.g. Insourcing/Outsourcing) together with the local teams and Mutares
  • Preparing management presentations in collaboration with the turnaround manager and the management board
  • Working at the intersection between the portfolio company and the shareholder side
Your Profile
  • Bachelor or Master studies in the field of economics, engineering, science or similar
  • Minimum of two years at university and outstanding results
  • Preliminary experience collected over the course of internship(s) in management consulting, private equity or other relevant field
  • Proficiency with the MS-Office Suite (in particular Excel and PowerPoint), expertise in the use of SharePoint is a plus
  • Strong commitment, flexibility and motivation
  • Autonomous and structured working attitude
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Willingness to travel up to four days (Mon-Thu) a week
