Finance & Controlling Intern (m/f/d)
Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), acquires medium-sized companies and parts of groups with headquarter in Europe that are being sold in the course of a repositioning process at their owners and show a clear potential for operational improvement. Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams as well as through acquisitions of strategic add-ons. Our goal is to acquire companies with a turnover of EUR 50 to 500 million. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.
For our Operations department, Finance & Controlling team, we are looking for an intern (m/f/d) for a period of 4 to 6 months, location flexible.
Your Tasks- Supporting our project teams at our participations (also on site)
- Support in the identification and implementation of operational and financial improvement measures
- Preparation of comprehensive company analyses and participation in the development of integrated planning models
- Carrying out market and competition analyses as well as benchmarking comparisons
- Support in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the Mutares Group
- Support in the preparation of purchase and sales processes at the interface to the M&A team
- Currently studying for a Master's degree in the field of economics, engineering or natural sciences; a very good Bachelor's degree is desirable
- Ideally first relevant previous experience through internships in M&A consultancies/corporate finance departments
- Interest/first experience in the design and implementation of operational processes along the entire value chain or the design and optimisation of internal structures and knowledge databases
- High motivation, flexibility and willingness to perform
- Independent and structured way of working
- Very good knowledge of English, other European foreign languages desirable (e.g. German, French)
- Confident handling of MS Office applications (esp. Excel)
- Willingness to travel up to four days (Mon-Thu) a week
