Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), acquires medium-sized companies and parts of groups with headquarter in Europe that are being sold in the course of a repositioning process at their owners and show a clear potential for operational improvement. Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams as well as through acquisitions of strategic add-ons. Our goal is to acquire companies with a turnover of EUR 50 to 500 million. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.
Within our OPS team, we are looking to hire a leader who has a successful track record in Finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.
Your Tasks
- Routinely support the restructuring and improvement processes of our portfolio companies on site and lead or support the Operations finance workstream
- Work closely with the local CFO/CRO and TMO lead on the preparation of turnaround concepts
- Perform strong financial analyses, prepare integrated financial models and challenge and assess business cases
- Implement and improve sound cash management processes on site
- Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
- Improve financial statement closing and other finance/controlling processes and assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit
- Manage the relationship to external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurer, etc.)
- Support the M&A team during the due diligence, after signing and with closing actions
Your Profile
- At least 5 years of experience in management consulting or a Big4 consulting firm (both preferably with restructuring experience) or controlling/finance department of industry firm (ideally with practical exposure to restructuring/turnaround situations)
- Finance related degree from a reputable university or business school
- International work experience is a prerequisite
- Proven experience in supervising or managing teams (e.g. as project leader in consulting projects)
- Experience in restructuring or turnaround situations working with cross-functional teams
- Advanced written and oral communication skills as well as the ability for meaningful presentations and to lead the change process and manage resistance throughout the change
- Experienced in building integrated financial models and cash forecasts
- Strong knowledge of Excel (financial analyses and modelling) and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel 4 days per week
