Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. For one of our portfolio companies, we are looking to hire a Head of Finance / CFO (m/f/d) who has a successful track record in finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.
Your Tasks
- Routinely lead the finance workstream and/or finance organisation on site
- Fill interim CFO or Finance Director positions and work closely with the local CEO/CRO during the turnaround process of the portfolio company
- Understand and analyse the core drivers of the business, develop financial turnaround concepts and lead the end-to-end implementation of the concepts
- Prepare integrated financial plans and lead forecasting and budgeting processes
- Implement and improve sound cash management processes and manage liquidity needs on site
- Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
- Manage and improve the relationship to external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurer, etc.)
- Assess and improve the finance and controlling organisation and processes on site
- Support the M&A team during the due diligence, after signing and with closing actions
- Support the continuous improvement process of our Operations finance practice and develop internal standards and trainings
Your Profile
- At least 8 years of relevant financial or operational restructuring experience gained in consulting, private equity, banking or industry
- Finance related degree from a reputable university or business school
- International work experience is a prerequisite
- Proven track record of delivering value creation for a Private Equity portfolio companies
- Understanding of the private equity industry gained from working with or for private equity firms
- Confident when interfacing with external and internal stakeholders
- Ability to build, review and refine financial models quickly and accurately
- Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English and one other European language
