Chief Executive Officer (m/f/d) – Portfolio Company

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

For one of our portfolio companies, we are looking to hire a CEO (m/f/d) who has a successful track record in restructuring with a focus on continuous improvement and an entrepreneurial mindset.

As CEO you are responsible for:

• Leading one (or more) of our portfolio companies in their turnaround journey, by working closely with the Mutares-team, ensuring all resources are linked and best utilized
• The proactive, growth-oriented development of the company through a holistic optimization program
• Stakeholder management and perform the direct link to the shareholder
• The commercial control of all business areas as well as overall responsibility for the company's profitability
• Leading responsibly and sustainably; whilst motivating and developing the team
• Managing the company in line with the shareholder’s ESG-requirements and ensure all relevant compliance and sustainability factors
• The continuous further development and control of the internal process

Your Profile

• You have a minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience, ideally in transformations, restructuring or turnaround situations; preferably have experience as Managing Director or CEO
• You have a structured and pragmatic approach to solving problems and driving impact combined with an entrepreneurial and team-focused mindset
• You can inspire your team with your motivational and confident manner and keep a clear head even in difficult situations
• You are business fluent in English and preferably other European languages
• You have proficiency with the MS-Office Suite
