Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. Within our operations team, we are looking to hire a leader with a successful track record in Commercial Excellence & Branding. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.
Your Tasks
- Take leadership of our portfolio companies in the transformation of their sales and/or marketing organisation and the implementation of defined measures on site
- Supporting all portfolios with their existing brand products, e.g Sabo, Lapeyre, Fasana etc.
- Due diligence and management experience of companies that have their own branded products
- Analyse problems and develop concrete improvement initiatives and implement them on your own responsibility
- Realise practical quick wins and minimise cash bleeding
- Develop a sales strategy to increase sales and profitability, e.g. by entering new markets, introducing new products and adjusting prices
- Review and evaluate the customer base and product portfolio and help implement rationalisation and/or repositioning
- Also gain experience through regular interaction with other functional areas of the Mutares team on site (production, finance, supply chain, etc.)
Your Profile
- Strong experience in managing and dealing with companies owning, developing and selling branded products
- International experience in Restructuring Leadership role in industry or in consulting
- Evidence of strong career progression
- You have been recently working in a management consultancy specializing in sales
- Proven ability to lead and motivate international teams (preferably in turnaround situations)
- Good command of financial analysis and management accounting, incl. P&L analysis, in order to identify and prioritize necessary measures for improvement
- Entrepreneurial mindset (fast, pragmatic, sustainable) and ability to think “outside the box”
- Professional communication and presentation of information, adapted to audience
- Willingness to travel (typically Mo-Thu, across Europe)
- Fluency in German & English
- Proven track record of delivering value creation
