KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within our OPS team, we are looking to hire a leader for our newly established Shanghai office who has a successful track record in Transformation Management Office and Finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.

Your Tasks
  • Establishing a business plan incl. a turnaround concept and driving the implementation together with the Mutares team and the portfolio company
  • Establishing the management governance and coherent tracking and reporting within the portfolio company
  • Routinely lead the finance workstream and/or finance organisation on site
  • Prepare integrated financial plans and lead forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Implement and improve sound cash management processes and manage liquidity needs on site
  • Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
  • Manage and improve the relationship to external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurer, etc.)
Your Profile
  • At least 5 years of relevant financial or operational restructuring experience gained in consulting, private equity, banking or industry
  • Master studies in the field of economics with a special focus on finance
  • Proven track record of delivering value creation in transformations, restructuring or turnaround situations
  • Structured and pragmatic approach to solve problems and drive impact combined with an entrepreneurial and team mindset
  • Business fluent in English and Mandarin combined with proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday)
