Senior Manager Procurement (m/f/d) - Germany
Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.
Within our Operations team, we are looking to hire a team member with a successful track record in Procurement with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.
Your Tasks
- Responsible for procurement activities and their corresponding strategic and operational development within the portfolio company
- Lead the assigned portfolio team technically and disciplinarily according to clearly defined goals
- Conduct price and value analysis and make or buy decisions
- Identify improvement opportunities across all external spend, map and improve the internal purchasing processes and implement the improvement measures to generate tangible benefits to the company’s overall financial situation
- Work closely with the Mutares Purchasing team to leverage any synergies across the wider portfolio
Your Profile
- Successfully completed a degree in Business, Economics or similar with outstanding results
- At least 6 years of experience in leading procurement improvement programs for manufacturing companies as well as knowledge of end-to-end purchasing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Business fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate in a well-structured and concise manner
- Willingness to travel up to 4 days per week (typically Monday – Thursday) and to work in an international environment
