Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within our Operations team, we are looking to hire a team member with a successful track record in Finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.

Your Tasks
  • Manage the integration into the Mutares finance and reporting processes of our portfolio companies on-site and support the Operations finance workstream
  • Work closely with the CFO, the local finance team as well as the Mutares restructuring team on site and the Mutares Group finance team of the Holding
  • Manage the financial integration of new acquisitions into the Mutares Group (e.g. establish opening balance, manage PPA, perform IFRS conversion)
  • Manage and improve financial statement closing and other finance/controlling processes and at the same time establish a well-functioning finance organisation in the portfolio company
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit processes
Your Profile
  • Successfully completed a Finance degree or similar with outstanding results
  • At least 4 years of experience in management consulting or a Big4 consulting firm (both preferably with restructuring experience) or controlling/finance department of an industry firm 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with SAP or other ERP systems or LucaNet is a plus
  • Business fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate in a well-structured and concise manner
  • Willingness to travel up to 2 - 3 days per week and to work in an international environment
