Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.
The position serves as the primary point of contact for real estate-related matters following a transaction, with a focus on facilitating communication and coordination between internal project teams, real estate investors, and energy consultants.
Your Tasks
1. Support in Real Estate Due Diligence
- Participation in the assessment and structuring of real estate assets within transaction processes (acquisitions/disposals)
- Coordination of external appraisers, technical advisors, and legal counsel
- Analysis of sale & leaseback options and preparation of related profitability calculations
- Support in identifying risks and opportunities within the real estate portfolio (e.g., building condition, lease agreements, energy efficiency)
2. Post-Transaction Support for Real Estate Investors
- Serving as the point of contact for real estate-related investor inquiries
- Monitoring lease agreements, property conditions, and contractual obligations
- Assisting with reporting and the implementation of real estate measures within portfolio companies
3. Collaboration with Energy Consultants and ESG Initiatives
- Coordination of energy audits and energy efficiency projects with specialized consultants
- Development and execution of measures to improve energy performance (e.g., insulation, heating systems, photovoltaic installations)
- Support in preparing ESG reports and integrating sustainability initiatives into real estate strategies
Your Profile
- Completed university degree in Real Estate Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the real estate sector, ideally with exposure to transactions, asset management, or technical property management
- Familiarity with ESG standards and energy-related initiatives (e.g., optimization of energy generation and distribution systems) is advantageous
- Fluent in German and English, with strong communication skills, a structured and precise working style, as well as excellent analytical and solution-oriented thinking abilities
- Willingness to travel up to 60% to portfolio company locations across Europe
