Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from USD 120 million to USD 850 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

As we continue to grow and broaden our footprint, we are expanding our Operations Team in the greater Chicago area. We are seeking an experienced Finance professional with a proven track record in consulting or restructuring - someone who embraces continuous improvement and brings an entrepreneurial mindset.

This role involves on-site work at portfolio companies located across US territory.

Your Tasks:

• Manage the restructuring and improvement processes for our portfolio companies on-site to implement and improve sound cash management processes
• Lead the preparation of turnaround concepts by performing strong financial analyses, preparing integrated financial models as well as assessing complex business cases
• Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
• Improve financial statement closing and other finance/controlling processes
• Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurers, etc.)

Your Profile:

• Successfully completed a Finance degree from a reputable university or business school
• At least 7 years of international experience in Big4/Management Consulting firm (preferably restructuring focused) or Controlling/Finance department of an industry firm (preferably with exposure to restructuring situation)
• Exceptional entrepreneurship to find and implement creative solutions, energy and drive to solve complex problems as well as resilience during distressed situations
• Business fluency in English with the ability to communicate in a well-structured and concise manner, another language is a plus
• Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel (Integrated financial modelling and cash forecasts)
• Willingness to travel 4 days per week (typ. Mon-Thu)
