Insurance Specialist (m/f/d)

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

We are seeking an experienced insurance specialist (m/f/d) to join our team and play a key role in managing insurance-related aspects of our investment portfolio.

Your Tasks

• Collaborate with deal teams to review and negotiate insurance-related terms in purchase agreements
• Develop and implement insurance strategies to mitigate risks and enhance value creation opportunities throughout the investment lifecycle
• Coordinate with insurance brokers, underwriters, and carriers to secure appropriate insurance coverage for portfolio companies
• Monitor insurance market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to proactively identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and risk management enhancement.
• Support in the administration/renewal of insurance policies of Mutares Holding

Your Profile

• Successfully completed an apprenticeship or a Bachelor´s degree in the field of Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or similar with outstanding results
• At least 5 years of experience in in the insurance industry, with a focus on insurance brokerage, underwriting, or risk management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach
• Strong understanding of insurance products and coverage types to conduct insurance due diligence and negotiate insurance terms in the context of M&A transactions and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Business fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate in a well-structured and concise manner
• Willingness to travel up to 4 days per week (typically Monday – Thursday) and to work in an international environment
